Alumni Reunion

Space is going ... are you on the list?

Here's the deal: per our contract with camp, we need to have enough people registered by September 15th to raise $5000.  This will guarantee that we have Camp all to ourselves.  If registration is not high enough to cover this amount, we are still going to have an amazing weekend, we just may be sharing the space with wide-eyed spectators.  Although we are over halfway full, we are not quite at this goal.  If you are waiting to register, PLEASE DO SO NOW!  If we lose any of this coveted ground to others, room availability may drop off drastically.  The conference center rooms are going the quickest, which means that if you'd like to stay where all the action will be, you need to get your name in now.

If you are on the fence, let us know why.  Is it too expensive?  Need the deposit waived?  Only coming for one night?  Just going to drop by for lunch? Too expensive to bring the kids?  Please feel free to email any of us on the board and tell us what the holdup is.  We really want everyone there.  It is the community that has always made Chanco such a remarkable place and none of us want anyone to miss this auspicious occasion for reasons that could have easily been remedied.  Email us and let us know your concerns … we can work them out!!!

Here's the list of those already registered, all of whom are sure to be in rare form for the weekend!  As of now we have 38 families.  Who will be there, you may be asking?  Leslie Riddick won the prize for being the first to register, followed next by Melanie Cheadle Jewell.  Need more names?  The entire CCAA board including Jenny Schroder Alfano, Tater Roberson, Chuck Alley, Sarah Ethridge Cargill, Greg Willis, Dave Belote (all the way from Las Vegas), and of course Helen Hamaker Somers.  Did you think Boomer was gone for good?  Heck no!  He'll be at the reunion, too!  Not convincing enough?  What about Emma Lowry, Marguerite (once known as Cissy) Alley, Linda Ryder Wolf, Sarah Musgrave, KK Leigh West, Julie Young, Sherri Lively, Talley Sale Banazek, Chuck Sale, Cari Long Hall, Evan Pierce, Mike Kellam, Jim Camp and Jon Best?  Jevon Garrett?  Eileen (once known as Pat) Walsh?  Do you remember English Alan?  From England?  Yep, he'll be there, too.  And if he can make it, anyone can!

Would you like to make an extra donation to give someone else the opportunity to come out and celebrate with us?  Email us and let us know!

There really are no excuses!  Please, please, please register today!  Yes, we are begging!!!!

See you in October!

Raise your hand and be counted!!!

So, I was just sipping some coffee and reminiscing about last years reunion and man, am I ready for this years! It is coming up fast and I am very curious about who is coming. So I said to myself, "Self, why not ask on the website to find out ." Myself relpied, "Great idea. You are a genius!" (Myself does not get out much and views me very much through a pair of severely rose colored glasses. Myself is also somewhat delusional. I have decided to find it charming.) So, without further ado - Who's coming? Post below and let me know. (Evan, I expect your name to be first!!!) And if you haven't registered, DO IT NOW! We need to fill up this joint quickly. And as we know from last year, space went fast. Click over this very minute and register. This is YOUR weekend and I want you all there! Then come back to this post and tell me who you are bringing. Call everyone you know who was there last year, and then call the folks who were not and light a fire under them, and do not take no for an answer. What are you bringing for crazy hat lunch? Who is going to be the medicine man for Indian Night? Will there be a FOG rolling in off the tranquil James? Are we too adult to still play winkem'? Let me know. Myself and I are dying to find out!

 OVER THE BLUFF WE GO!!!

Fall Fest Details

Chanco Song Sign
So I've found out some more details about our annual autumnal assembly, otherwise known as the Chanco Fall Fest. If I read the flyer correctly (it's right -> over there), you have two options:

  1. overnight + picnic
  2. picnic

#1 will cost you $30 or $60 -- and that's for the whole family. Yep, you read that right. $30 buys you a night in the woods in a chalet, $60 gets you a room in the Conference Center. It also will get you all meals -- 3 to be exact. And best of all, the overnight option will give you a chance to catch up with those old friendships. Oh, and there will be, yes, an Indian night.

#2 is free gratis, with food and fundraising aplenty. But lets be realistic, attending only the #2 option will guarantee an afternoon full of "Wow, you really should have been here last night. I can't believe Danny has that level of stamina for a man of his age."

C'mon, when's the last time you spent a night at camp? And even for you wimps who'll end up in the Conference Center, $60 is a STEAL for this kind of weekend.

Here's the schedule:

SAT 22 SEPT
3:00 Registration
4-5:00 Happy Hour
6:00 Dinner
7:00 Live Music
8:30 Indian Night
9:30-? Live Music

SUN 23 SEPT
? breakfast
? morning eucharist
12:00 lunch
2-5:00 Fall Fest Picnic

Download the Fall Fest Flyer. Read it for yourself. Print it out. Post it in a place of prominence in your house. Place it in an envelope and send it to someone who isn't going to be reading this website.
