Lorin Carnwath

I can not think back that far when I started going all I know is I started when I was 11yrs. old and never wanted to leave. The summers where a great time to look forward to coming back to Camp Chanco. It had influenced me greatly, keeping me out of trouble when those teenage years can be the toughest.

I have been wondering what, when, where, all those that I have known through Camp Chanco have done with their lives. I loved being a camper but also got to enjoy two years of being a staff member. If Jim Camp is here give me a shout out! And Steve Summers, Robbin White, and even Boomer! I did not know he was working at Camp Chanco! Wow this is great.

I went to Virginia Commonwealth University from 1988-1992 studied Fine Arts. Then studied in New York City at Fashion Institute of Technology to become a textile designer. I live for 8 years in the Carolinas working in different places for textile manufacturers. I am married now to Bryant Nguyen, we met in Winston-Salem, NC. and we relocated to Mobile, Al. on the Gulf Coast. We have been living here for about 2 years now.

I tried to see if I could find Camp Chanco Alumni from Facebook and was greatly reunited with Laurie Pearce who told me about this site. So I am glad that after all these years of wondering that I can look back at some of those faces that meant a lot to me. I think those years at Camp Chanco were some of my best years.

Camp Chanco is sunshine! I wonder if anyone remembers that whole song?

Cheers
