Anxious Excitement

Oh my! What a weekend!

I was so excited to share chanco with my son and my boyfriend, who also has a son. And we made a weekend out of it. I wanted them to love it as much as I do and I was going to be so disappointed if everyone didn't have a great time.

But no worries! In true Chacno fashion, it didn't matter if you'd been there a dozen times or if it was the first time you'd stepped foot on the property, the Spirit of Chanco touched everyone!

We spent a lot of time just enjoying Chanco as a family. We stayed at the waterfront for hours and looked for shark's teeth and shells, swimming and playing in the sand. We went to the pool (in my day, that luxury wasn't available, so I was definately going to take advantage!). The boys tried out the zip line, and we strolled around the camp.

Even though I didn't see many friends from my years, it was good to see others that had experienced Chanco. It was good to see all the kids enjoying themselves. And it was good to see Charlie.

We took the ferry boat back across the river (it was the long way around, but it was worth it). Our boys couldn't stop talking about the weekend- they can't wait for next summer when they can come without grownups. And so, the Spirit lives on...
