Dave Belote
Dave BelotePlease vote for me for three reasons:

1) I'd bring to CCAA an almost unmatched perspective of Chanco; my growth at camp includes 7 years as a camper (71-77), 4 years as a counselor (off and on between 79-84), 1 year as Program Director (85), and 5 summers as a Chanco parent (since 03). I think I can carry CCAA's message and highlight the Chanco experience in almost any arena.
2) I'm fairly reliable, competent, and energetic. Shoot, I've even been nominated to serve on the Chanco Board of Directors--I could be a pretty good go-between for the two boards.
3) Back-to-back losses in CCAA elections might irrevocably damage my fragile self-esteem--and I know you don't want that on your conscience!

I was involved in Senior EYC for all four years of high school (88-92). During that time, I served as Treasurer at the Convocation level. I spent quite a bit of time at Chanco through the years, as a camper and an EYC member. I am willing to help and do whatever I can to make sure that Chanco continues on for years to come. I am currently working towards my accounting degree, and will then continue on to get my CPA license. I have been working in an accounting firm for approximately 10 years, and I have just about seen it all. I feel that I can help bring knowledge and insight to the board. I feel confident that I can give the Alumni Association the time and service needed in the Treasurer position.

Like many of us, I first became involved with Chanco through EYC – for me it was a Youth Senate in 1984 and I was hooked right away. I stayed involved with Diocesan events throughout high school and served as the President of the Diocesan EYC Board in 1988/89 (it doesn’t seem that long ago!). I was also involved with the Happening Program and was Rector of Happening #13. I attended a number of Senior High sessions, but I remember that I could hardly wait until the summer after my senior year in high school to be able to work at camp for the entire summer! I worked the last summer at the old property and the first three at the new camp – and for a number of Senior High sessions after that. The summers I spent as a counselor and the two I spent as the Program Director include some of the very hardest, the funniest, and the very best moments of my life. I believe I can offer a sense of balance to the board, a sense of humor, and a sense of what Chanco is like today, as I was able to spend last summer with my family on the shores of the James singing camp songs with campers and staff again. I hope to have the opportunity to work with the CCAA Board as an At-Large Director to help ensure that future generations are able to enjoy the life-changing experiences so many of us have had at Chanco.

I first stumbled upon Camp Chanco at a Sr High conference in '79. In addition to innumerable EYC retreats, I worked summers from '80-'84 - starting as a counselor and ending up PD. Throughout the '80s and '90s I could usually be found at the Sr High conference most of those summers. Chanco has been a meaningful part of my life and I'm working hard to keep it that way. And I do this website, too.
